The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) congratulates Friedrich Merz on his election as the 10th Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and the members of his cabinet. The DAAD sees the new government's coalition agreement as providing forward-looking impetus for international academic exchange and further enhancing Germany's attractiveness as a centre of higher education in the global competition.
