The 2025 European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT) Successfully Concludes
The European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT) is the largest European higher education exhibition in Taiwan, co-organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) / German Institute Taipei and the French Office in Taipei / Campus France. For many years, the fair has been dedicated to promoting the diversity and high quality of European education.
This year’s fair featured 76 booths representing 82 higher education institutions from 12 European countries, offering a comprehensive overview of studying in Europe. Information covered included university and program introductions, scholarships, application strategies, as well as tuition fees and living expenses, enabling visitors to explore Europe’s rich academic resources and competitive advantages in one place. Germany, with 14 booths, was one of the major participating countries. German institutions highlighted their English-taught master’s programs, low or no tuition fees, and their strong emphasis on close collaboration between academia and industry, attracting significant interest from both students and working professionals.
Over 6,000 visitors attended the two-day exhibition, which received very positive feedback from both participating institutions and attendees. According to the on-site survey, 71% of visitors were between the ages of 18 and 35, and the proportion of visitors aged 26 to 35 increased from 20% in 2024 to 26% in 2025. This increase reflects growing interest among working professionals in further education, particularly in Germany, which is widely recognized for its excellent academic standards, strong research environment, and favorable career prospects.
In terms of preferred study destinations, Germany ranked first among all European countries, followed by France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Europe continues to attract Taiwanese students through its diverse cultural environment, internationally competitive academic programs, and comparatively affordable study and living costs, with Germany standing out as a particularly attractive option.
Interest in master’s programs reached a new high of 78%, confirming postgraduate study as the most popular choice among visitors. The most sought-after fields of study included Business and Management, Engineering Sciences, Arts and Design, and Computer Science and Information Technology. Engineering and IT programs offered by German institutions were especially popular, reflecting Germany’s strengths in technology, innovation, and applied sciences. Other fields such as Mathematics and Statistics, Architecture and Urban Planning, and Law also drew attention.
Beyond degree programs, the fair also revealed increasingly diverse learning needs, with growing interest in short-term courses as well as secondary school and university preparation programs. This trend highlights the flexibility of European higher education and Germany’s strong commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
The 2025 European Education Fair Taiwan once again demonstrated the importance of academic cooperation between Taiwan and Europe. Through its active involvement and leadership, DAAD continues to support student mobility, academic collaboration, and international exchange. Germany, with its high-quality education system, strong research infrastructure, affordable study costs, and international learning environment, remains one of the most attractive destinations for Taiwanese students and professionals pursuing higher education in Europe.
